Overview

This Data Retention Policy explains how long we retain your personal information and the criteria we use to determine retention periods.

General Principles

We retain data only as long as necessary to:

• Provide and improve our services
• Comply with legal obligations
• Resolve disputes
• Enforce our agreements

Retention Periods by Data Type

Account Information

• Active Accounts: Retained while your account is active
• After Account Deletion: Your account, photos, items, and preferences are deleted right away; anonymized records of paid orders are kept (see Financial Information)

Item Photos and Data

• User-uploaded Photos: Retained while account is active or until manually deleted
• Signed-out Uploads: Moved to your account when you sign in; otherwise deleted on request
• Processed Data: Identifications and valuations retained with photos
• Anonymised training copies: Kept with no link to your account. Deleting an item does not remove them; deleting your account removes the copies still linked to it. Recognition labels (which catalog item a photo was matched to) are kept without any link to you.

Analytics and Usage Data

• Aggregated Analytics: Retained indefinitely (anonymized)
• Developer API Usage Records: Deleted after 12 months
• API Request Details: The recorded parameters of an API request, including search text, are deleted after 90 days
• Error Reports: Kept by our crash-reporting provider under its retention settings

Communication Records

• Support and Email Communications: Kept as long as needed to help you and for our records

Financial Information

• Transaction Records: Kept as required for accounting and tax, in anonymized form after account deletion
• Payment Card Data: Not stored (processed by third-party payment processors)

Data Deletion

User-Initiated Deletion

You can request deletion of your data at any time by:

• Deleting your account in the app (Profile → Delete account)
• Using the account deletion page at pricehero.ai/delete-account
• Contacting us at the email below

Automatic Deletion

We automatically delete:

• Developer API request details after 90 days, and API usage records after 12 months
• Temporary files and caches regularly

Exceptions to Deletion

We may retain certain data longer when required to:

• Comply with legal obligations
• Resolve disputes or enforce agreements
• Prevent fraud and abuse
• Maintain business records (anonymized)

Backup and Archive Data

Deleted data may persist in backups for up to 90 days before being permanently removed. Archived data for legal or business purposes is stored securely and separately.

Third-Party Data Processors

Our third-party service providers follow their own retention policies, which we review for compliance with data protection standards.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Data Retention Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
